Eye Connect

Every year, thousands of Australians living with diabetes face the risk of losing their sight due to diabetes-related eye conditions. Early detection and ongoing support can prevent much of this vision loss, but too many people miss checks or struggle to stay on top of treatment.

Diabetes Australia’s KeepSight and Macular Disease Foundation Australia are working together to provide a free national service offering tailored information, practical advice, and emotional support to people living with diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular oedema.

Since 2019 KeepSight has been helping people with diabetes stay on track with their recommended eye checks by sending timely reminders.

This new collaboration with Macular Disease Foundation Eye Connect will provide:

• Tailored education on diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular oedema
• Practical lifestyle and vision adaptation advice
• Emotional connection via peer support and regular check-ins
• Information that can be delivered by phone, email, and print
